The model that works: a free channel and a VIP channel
Telegram is already the tipster's tool of choice, and your followers are already there. A VIP channel doesn't change their habits: they simply get more, in an app they already open.
The free channel
Your shop window. A few tips, your reasoning, your results. It is there to win the trust of new followers.
The VIP channel
What people pay for: more tips, full analysis, staking advice. Private, open only to paid-up members.
Why Telegram rather than another network? Messages arrive instantly (handy when odds move before a match), a channel can have an unlimited number of subscribers, and nobody sees anyone else's phone number. The limit is everything around it: payment and access management. We'll come to that.
Create and set up your Telegram VIP channel
Creating a channel takes a minute. Setting it up properly avoids most problems later:
- Private channel. It doesn't show up in search and people can only join by invitation. That is the basis of paid access.
- Protected content. Turn on "Restrict saving content" in the channel settings: members can no longer forward or save your messages. Your VIP tips spread less easily to other channels.
- A clear name. For example "[Your brand] VIP". Members recognise the paid channel straight away, and can tell it apart from copies.
- A pinned message. Channel rules, tip format, the value of one staking unit, a responsible gambling reminder. Members understand everything from the moment they arrive.
What the VIP channel needs to add
A member pays for a visible difference from the free channel. Pick one or two, and stick to them:
- More tips, at a stated pace (for example 3 to 5 a week);
- The full analysis behind each tip, not just the bet;
- A recommended stake in units, so everyone can adapt it to their bankroll;
- A speciality: a league, a sport, a type of bet you know better than others;
- A regular review: at the end of each month, all the results, wins and losses.
How much to charge for a Telegram VIP channel
Two benchmarks from real sales on Typsa websites (over €146,000 taken by tipsters to date):
€10 – 30
a month: the usual range for subscriptions
≈ €17
the average payment
To place yourself in that range:
- Start from what you deliver. A track record of a few weeks: start low. A complete, verifiable record over several months and detailed analysis: aim higher.
- Keep two or three plans. The month as the base, a longer plan (quarter or year) slightly cheaper per month for loyal members, and possibly a day pass for a big match.
- Raise it for new members. When you put your price up, keep the old price for your first members: it thanks them, and gives the next ones a reason to sign up early.
The full method for setting a price is in our guide on how to sell betting tips.
Charging for access to your Telegram channel
A private channel doesn't take payments by itself: you need to collect the money elsewhere, then give access. Four ways to do it, from the most manual to the most automated:
| Method | Taking payment | Renewal | Channel access |
|---|---|---|---|
| Bank transfer, person-to-person payment | Checked one by one | Chased every month | Invite sent by hand |
| Stripe or PayPal payment link | Automatic | Possible as a subscription | Invite sent by hand |
| Telegram payment bot | Automatic | Automatic | Automatic, with no shop window of your own |
| Betting tips website with subscriptions | Automatic | Automatic | Automatic, with your own site and track record |
The manual method and its limits
"I've paid, can you add me?" The manual method holds up to about ten members. Beyond that, it always creates the same problems:
- payments to check one by one, at all hours;
- reminders at the end of every month;
- members still in the channel without having renewed;
- invite links shared with people who never paid.
A website that takes payments for you
With a paid betting tips website, members choose their plan and pay on their own, by card (Stripe) or PayPal, straight into your account. No more "send me the money in DMs": your offers, your terms and your track record are on a page that inspires trust at the moment of payment.
Create your betting tips website
Automated payments and VIP access, live in 5 minutes. No commitment.
Adding and removing Telegram VIP members automatically
This is what turns a VIP channel into a business that runs without you: channel access follows payment. Without automation, every month-end you have to compare the list of payers with the list of channel members. With it, two problems disappear: the time spent adding and removing members, and access left open to people who have stopped paying.
-
1
Payment confirmed
The member pays for their VIP plan on your website. Their VIP access opens straight away.
-
2
They join your Telegram VIP channel
Access to your Telegram channel or group is part of their subscription.
-
3
Every tip is announced
When you post a tip on your website, a message goes out automatically in your Telegram.
-
4
Subscription ends
If they don't renew, they are removed from your channels and groups, with no message to send and no list to check.
Telegram with Typsa
Turning free followers into VIP members
Don't close your free channel when the VIP starts: that is where your members will come from.
-
1
Keep the free channel active
One free tip a day or per matchday. A silent free channel converts nobody.
-
2
Show the VIP results
The full review, wins and losses. Transparency is your best argument, and it is what justifies the price.
-
3
Give a taste of the paid content
Now and then, a full VIP analysis in the free channel: followers see exactly what they are missing.
-
4
Put the subscription link everywhere
In the channel description, in a pinned message, under your reviews. A limited launch offer helps the most convinced take the plunge.
Allow several weeks for your first VIP members. How regularly you post for free and how clear your track record is count for more than a big audience. If you are starting from scratch, begin with our guide on how to become a tipster.
Paid tips website or paid Telegram channel?
The real question isn't one or the other. Telegram is excellent for broadcasting and staying in touch; a website is built to sell, take payments and prove your results. The two work together:
| Telegram channel only | Website + Telegram | |
|---|---|---|
| Send out your tips instantly | Yes | Yes |
| Talk with your members | Yes | Yes (Telegram, plus comments and likes on the site) |
| Take card or PayPal payments | With a separate tool | Yes |
| Open and close access | By hand or with a bot | Automatic |
| Verifiable track record and stats | Screenshots | Calculated with every result |
| Be found on Google | No | Yes, with your pages and articles |
| An address in your name | No | Yes, with your own domain name |
With a website, your Telegram channel becomes a relay: your members get your tips there as before, and the site takes care of everything Telegram doesn't do.
The rules to follow
- Declare your income. Selling tips is a service, and the money you make from it is income: declare it to your tax authority.
- Never promise profits. Claiming that your tips guarantee winnings is misleading, and it destroys the trust your channel is built on.
- Be transparent about your results: post your reviews in full, losses included.
- Check the advertising rules. Gambling advertising is regulated in many countries (in the UK, for example, by the CAP code enforced by the ASA), including how bookmakers and paid promotion can be used.
- Speak to adults only and remind people of the risks of gambling in your pinned message.
